Maurice W. French, age 79, of Geneva passed away peacefully Thursday April 27, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born June 26, 1937 in Central City, Illinois the son of Harry and Faola (Fetgatter) French.
Maurice grew up in Central City, graduating from the high school in 1955. He attended DeVry Institute graduating with a degree in electronics in 1957 and also took courses in Management from Loyola University. Maurice was very active in both the St Charles Golden K Kiwanis Club and The Congregational Church of Christ of which he was a long time member. He treasured the time he spent with his family and friends and will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his beloved wife Nancy (Ford)Fiebelkorn-French; children James Stafford of Colombia, TN, Steven French of Coal City, Kathy French of S. Elgin, Ronald (Debra) French of S. Elgin; their mother Roberta French; son Thomas (Terri) Reed of Madison, WI; grandchildren Mallory (Thomas) Steinhable, Ory Berner, Alayna Berner, Rebecca French, Kevin French, Amanda Reed, Amber Reed and Brody Stafford; great grandsons Ezra and Evan Steinhable; sister Marilyn (Tim) Ballard of Palm Bay, FL; and many dear nieces, nephews and friends.
Maurice was preceded in death by his parents, brother who died in infancy Dwayne, sister Marcella March and grandson Grant Berner.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at 11:00 am at The Congregational United Church of Christ, 40W451 Fox Mills Blvd, St Charles, Rev. Patricia Kitner and Rev. David Pattee, officiating.
Following a luncheon at the church, burial will be held at Union Cemetery, St. Charles.
A brief visitation will precede the funeral service from 10:00-11:00 at the church.
