Marilyn R. Duffy

Marilyn R. Duffy, of Geneva, IL, passed away Saturday December 22, 2012 at her residence.

She was born March 5, 1932 in Chicago, IL. the daughter of Thomas and Helen (Gavin) Considine.

Marilyn was a 1954 graduate of St. Xavier College receiving degrees in Theology and Psychology. She taught in the Catholic School System in Chicago from 1954-1955, and the Chicago Public School System from 1955-1958.  She was married to Gerald J. Duffy from 1957 until 1975. Later in life, Marilyn was proud of her work as a nurse’s aide, caring for people in their homes for nearly 20 years.

Marilyn is survived by her children Mark (Denise) Duffy of Evergreen, CO., Daniel (Lita) Duffy of Oak Park, Mary Duffy of Geneva, Clare (Henry) Rahe of Palos Heights and Edward Duffy of Chicago; grandchildren Emma, Kendra, and Monica and nieces Dianne (Jeff) Matheson and Lynn (Ken) Grskovic.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her two brothers John (Jack) Considine and Thomas (Buddy) Considine, and her niece Gail Considine.

Marilyn’s greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with her family and friends. She will be dearly missed.

Visitation will be held Friday, January 4th, 2013 between 3:00 pm and 9:00 pm, with Funeral Service and Celebration of Life at 7:30 pm, at the Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State St. (Rt. 38) Geneva, IL 60134.

Interment will be held privately at River Hills Cemetery in Batavia.
