Barbara Lou (Donelson) Beard

Barbara L. Beard, age 89, passed away peacefully September 25, 2017 at Michaelsen Health Center in Batavia, Illinois.

She was born November 18, 1927 in Fawn River Township, Michigan to Harold M. Donelson and Velma P. (Kilbury) Donelson.

She is survived by her three children David R. Swartz, Jerry Lynn (Swartz) Cox, and John D. Swartz; 6 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters Sarah and Roberta; the father of her children Gerald E. Swartz; her second husband Philip W. Beard, Jr.; dear significant other Glenn W. Schwartz, with whom she traveled the world; and favorite son-in-law Robert W. “Bob” Cox.

A Memorial Service will take place at Fox Valley Presbyterian Church, 227 East Side Drive, Geneva on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 2:00 pm with visitation at the church for one hour prior to the service. Rev. Melinda Hinners and Rev. Stephanie Anthony will officiate.
