Wilson J. “Willie” Lanclos, age 75, of North Aurora, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 7, 2023 in Tennessee.
He was born August 27, 1947, in Leonville, Louisiana, the son of Dudley and Mabel (Thomas) Lanclos.
After graduating from high school, Willie was a meat cutter apprentice for Jewel Stores until he enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1968. While stationed in England, he met the love of his life's father in a pub. He introduced him to his daughter, and they were married six months later in 1971. Willie served in the military for 20 years. While serving his country, he had three daughters, many temporary homes, and saw the world. He retired from his Air Force career in 1988. Wanting to live close to his sister, he relocated his family to the North Aurora area. Willie found his second career in 1991 at Rosary High School in Aurora where he was Rosary’s “go-to guy” as featured in a Beacon News article. He retired in 2009. Willie enjoyed traveling with his wife. He never met a stranger and was always ready with a kind word and a helping hand. He loved to work in the yard, take care of the birds and snacks. Willie saw the good in everyone and everyone he met loved him.
He is survived by daughters Cathy Lanclos of N. Aurora, Julie (Paul) Hoover of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and Lindsay Langfield of Dixon; grandchildren Taylor Lanclos, Jordan Lanclos-Pannell, Gavin and Hayden Langfield, and Henry Hoover; sister Florence Richard of Batavia; and many other dear relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife Carol, his parents, and his brother.
