William S. Tait Obituary

William S. Tait, age 63, of St. Charles, passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at his home.

He was born November 8, 1959, in Sigourney, Iowa, the son of Tuenis and Evelyn (Sherman) Tait.

Bill spent 30+ years teaching and coaching in the Geneva Middle Schools where he enjoyed working with his colleagues and all of the students he had over the years. He retired in 2018 and continued to substitute teach over the last 5 years.

Bill had a lifelong love of sports. He enjoyed playing, coaching, and watching many different sports. His love of playing golf was a lifelong pursuit. One of his favorite places to golf during the summer was Lake City, Minnesota with its beautiful courses located on the cliffs above the Mississippi River. His friends and family all knew of his love for the Bears and the Cubbies. He was an avid cribbage player, loved his cats, and took pleasure in spending time with his young great nieces who lovingly referred to him as UB.

He is survived by his sisters Leslie (Gene) Crombleholme of South Carolina and Denise (Mark) Snyder of Geneva, nephew Reid (Daniela) Snyder, niece Brynn (Andrew) Hanson, three great nieces, a great nephew along with many more dear relatives and friends.

William was proceeded in death by his parents.

Services will be held privately in Iowa.
