Obituary

William E. Sanders, age 94, of Villanova, Pennsylvania, passed away Saturday, May 13, 2023 at Autumn Leaves of St. Charles with his loving family by his side.

He was born July 20, 1928, in Wilmington, Delaware, the son of Thomas and Margaret (Webb) Sanders.

William retired in 1986 as the senior officer of personnel at sears, Robuck, & Co. in Chicago.  During his career at Sears, he worked in stores and offices in New England, the Mid Atlantic, and the South.

Born and raised in Wilmington, Delaware, after graduating from P.S. duPont High School, he was appointed a Cadet Midshipman in the US Merchant marine Academy.  He graduated from Franklin and Marshall College in 1951.  He served in the US Army in Germany for two years following college and before going to work for Sears.

He is survived by his grandchildren Kelly (Richard) Arsenault, Jamie (Matthew) Multz, Megan Anderson, and Thatcher Anderson; two great grandchildren; and many other dear relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son David, daughter Holly Anderson, and his wife Catherine.

A private burial will be held at the Churchyard of Washington Memorial Chapel at Valley Forge.
