William L. Richards

William L. Richards, age 85, of Geneva, passed away on Monday, January 27, 2025, at The Grove of St. Charles, with his loving wife by his side. He was born on June 9, 1939, in Chicago, Illinois to William and Evangeline (Smotrys). He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Susan Richards. William (Bill) was a devoted husband and loving father.

His children are Mark Richards of Texas and Susan Wilson (Jeff Twitty) of Texas; grandchildren Ryan and Kaitlin Wilson of Texas; siblings Jimmy Richards of Chicago, Mike (Judy) Richards of Florida, and Judy Serresseque of California.

Step-children are Michael and Melvin Tackett of Elgin, Steve (Nadia) Abrahamson of Hampshire, and Shawn Abrahamson of Chicago; step-grandchildren Nicole & Justin Tackett, Elizabeth (Westley) Bennicas, and Stefan & Sofia Abrahamson; and great-granddaughter Gwendolyn Bennicas of Tennessee.

Bill was a successful business owner for over 40 years. He went to Bradley University in Chicago for two years, and served some time in the Air Force Reserves. He was an avid sailor and owned three sailboats throughout his lifetime. He was a great cook, loved to travel and enjoyed watching football and golf. 

Funeral services for William will be held privately.
