Wieslawa Blando Obituary

Wiesława Blando, age 62, of Batavia, passed away peacefully at her home on June 5, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born July 8, 1963, in Olsztyn, Poland, daughter of Jozef and Filomena (Czebruk) Futerski.

Wiesława was a loving wife, mother, babcia, sister, friend, and neighbor. She arrived in Chicago in 1991 and became a Batavian in 1995. Her heart partially stayed in Poland keeping traditions alive. Her faith and heritage were very important to her.

Wiesława was the crazy glue for her family. She had a strong character and could always be counted for an honest answer. A devoted homemaker and hardworking woman, she took great pride in caring for her family and creating a welcoming home for everyone.

Wiesława adored her grandson and adored every moment spent together— from simple walks to teaching him Polish. She always thought of others, whether through a home-cooked meal, a baked treat, or crocheting doilies. Wiesia had the best tips and tricks when it came to cooking and cleaning. Her cooking will be greatly missed as it was always the best.

Wiesława was strong in her faith, and a parishioner of Holy Trinity Polish Mission Catholic Church. She will be missed dearly and will be waiting for us in Heaven.

Wieczny odpoczynek racz jej dać, Panie, a światłość wiekuista niechaj jej świeci. Niech odpoczywa w pokoju wiecznym. Amen.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Krzysztof Blando; her daughters, Aleksandra Blando of Atlanta, Georgia, and Kinga (Kyle) Condon of Geneva; her cherished grandson, Lucas; her brothers, Janusz and Piotr Futerski of Poland; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents
