Wendy May Peniak, 62, of Genoa, IL passed from this world into the Brilliance of Heaven on Thursday, August 18, 2022 surrounded by loving family.
She was preceded in death by an infant sister, paternal and maternal grandparents, father, father-in-law and mother-in-law.
Wendy was born on March 21, 1960 to Bruce and Myra May and was raised in Lombard, IL with her seven siblings. Wendy excelled in everything she put her mind to. After being a stay at home Mom she went to work in the banking industry. She had a passion for God, bible study groups, children, gardening (a huge green thumb), decorating, collecting, baking and most importantly family. Her infectious smile and caring nature (If she knew your favorite treat she would make it for you from scratch) made her more than special.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 34 years Ihor Peniak; their son Samuel (Michelle) Peniak; a beautiful three month old granddaughter Brinley; a special four-legged furry puppy named Molly Who; mother Myra May; sisters Vicki (Tim) Tingle, Susan (Joe) Romano; brother Bruce (Mary) May; sister Sandy (Steve) Beach; brothers Paul (Karen) May, Alan (Tina) May, and Eric (Jennifer) May. Sister-in-law to Roxy Mack, Askold Wawryszyn, and Myron (Sophia) Peniak. She was an incredible loving Aunt to many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. She had numerous longtime friendships. The hole her passing has left in all of our hearts is huge.
