Wanda Pelszynski, age 87, of North Aurora, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 19, 2025 at AccentCare Hospice in Naperville with her loving family by her side.
She was born August 1, 1937, in Kulesze, Poland, the daughter of Wladyslaw and Zofia (Magnuszewska) Klimaszewski.
Wanda was a devoted Catholic who attended mass regularly. She was a kind-hearted woman with a strong devotion to her children and grandchildren. She was known for her gardening, cooking and sewing skills. She led an active lifestyle taking a 30 minute walk every day and joined many of the activities at her community clubhouse including bunco, bingo and bocce. She had a sincere love of pets, both her Jodi and Rocky, and those of her children (Cosmo, Nessa, Remy, Gracie, Reba, Bowie, Violet and Jake). She leaves behind a legacy of resilience, kindness, love, generosity, humility and devotion.
Wanda is survived by her daughters Lucy (Robert) Devermann of Batavia and Diana (Miguel) Orjuela of Batavia; grandchildren Emily Risner, Alexis Orjuela, Samantha Orjuela, and step grandchildren, Samantha (Kenny) Hammonds, and Zak Devermann; siblings Jadwiga Zub, Halina Jaworowska, and Maria Pisanko; and many other dear relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her grandson Nicholas Orjuela, her sister Helena Tekien, and her husband Chester who passed away in 2021.
Visitation will be held Thursday, June 26, 2025 from 5:00 – 8:00 pm at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street (Route 38), Geneva with a liturgical wake service at 7:45pm.
Funeral Prayers will be held Friday, June 27 at 9:30 am at Malone Funeral Home proceeding to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 801 Oak Street, North Aurora for celebration of funeral mass at 10:30 am.
Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Geneva.
