Vernon E. Alfredson, age 96, of Batavia, passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at Michaelson Health Care Center in Batavia.
He was born July 19, 1924, in San Francisco, the son of Ewald and Alice (Gundersen) Alfredson.
Vernon proudly served his country in the United States Navy in the North Atlantic during World War II. He owned his own printing business and enjoyed fishing and playing Scrabble. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his children Thomas (Terri) of California, Gary (Rhonda) of Batavia, Joan (Daniel) Kinney of Colorado, Jean (Ed) Zaldivar of Miami, Janet (Jim) Golick of Geneva, Mark (Donna) of Florida, Daniel of Arizona, and Alan of Chicago; 13 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; sisters Vernetta Winter of Georgia and June Grant of Des Plaines; and many other dear relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Helen, and sister Nancy Burns.
Funeral prayers for Vernon will be held Saturday, August 22, 2020 at 9:00 am at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street (Route 38), Geneva proceeding to St. Peter Catholic Church, 1891 Kaneville Road, Geneva for Celebration of Funeral Mass at 10:00 am with Father Charles Warren, Celebrant.

Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Geneva.
Visitation will be held Friday, August 21 from 4:00 – 8:00 pm at Malone Funeral Home with a Rosary recited at 7:45 pm.
