Tracy L. Green

Tracy L. Green, age 62, of Elgin, passed away from complications of lung cancer on January 7, 2023.

He was born in St. Charles on May 23, 1960 to Terrance and Thelma (Baugarner) Green.

Tracy spent his early years growing up in Lilly Lake, Kell, and Geneva. Tracy enjoyed visiting with family and friends on the family farm in southern IL. He graduated from Geneva High School in 1978. He enjoyed working on vehicles, woodworking, and welding.  He used these skills to work for IDOT for 30 years retiring in 2014.  In 1984 he became a proud father to his only daughter, Audrey. While working and raising his daughter he met and married the love of his life, Laura Solarski, June 25, 1993. Tracy enjoyed spending time outdoors particularly time camping with his wife and family. He enjoyed target shooting and was an advocate for gun safety serving as a range safety officer and member of the Aurora Sportsmen Club. When he wasn’t shooting trap, hunting, camping, or playing an occasional game of golf he could be found reading or watching a documentary about American history. Generally, he could be found holding a mug of coffee ready for political debate or to talk about his grandsons, nieces, or nephews whom he loved dearly.

In addition to his wife Laura, he is survived by his daughter Audrey (Eric) Murphy, his grandsons Sheamus and Logan, his brother Victor (Jan) Green, his nieces Amy (Mikee) Kuhr, Amanda (Lauren) Pomplin, Ashley Pomplin, and Alexandra Kufer, and his great nephews and niece Aiden, Trent, and Morgan, and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Tracy would not want us to be sad but rather share a laugh and memories. A visitation is planned for Sunday, February 19, 2023 from 2:00 pm until the time of his celebration of his life service at 4:00 pm at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street (Route 38), Geneva.

Graveside burial will be held Monday, February 20 at 10:00 am at Oak Hill Cemetery in Geneva.
