Taylor I. Douell, age 33, of Chicago, passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at his home.
He was born September 18, 1989, in Peoria, the son of D. Ike and Karen (Hand) Douell.
As a child, Taylor was active in Boy Scouts with his father Ike as a troop leader. He played all manner of sports but especially enjoyed golf and basketball. Taylor graduated from the University of Illinois in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Finance. He went on to have a successful career in the financial products industry. Taylor enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, golfing, fishing, and boating. He found a love of travel as an adult and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Taylor will be fondly remembered for his mischievous nature, teasing his older sisters, nerf gun battles with nis nieces and nephews and joking with friends. He imparted his love of card and board games to his nieces and nephews and taught them all to play poker much to the dismay of their parents.
Taylor is survived by his mother Karen of Elgin; sisters Sarah (Matthew) Beu of St. Charles, Cassie (Alex) Stoller of Ohio, and Kalie Gould of Dunlap; nieces and nephews Isabelle, Collin, Owen, Caitlyn, Gavin, Ian, Claire, Sophie, and Kippa; and many other dear relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Visitation for Taylor will be held Tuesday, December 27, 2022 from 5:00 pm until the time of his memorial service at 7:00 pm at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street (Route 38), Geneva.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Boy Scouts of America or Wounded Warrior Project would be appreciated.
