Stanley S. "Stan" Wegrzyn

Stanley S. “Stan” Wegrzyn, age 84, of St. Charles, passed away Sunday, June 14, 2026 at home with his loving family by his side.

He was born January 31, 1942, in Chicago, the son of Stanley and Evelyn (Kempski) Wegrzyn.

Stan enjoyed a long and successful 40+ year career in metal building sales, earning the respect of colleagues, customers, and friends alike. He valued the relationships he built throughout his life and was known for his loyalty, friendship, and genuine interest in others. Stan was a devoted Chicago Cubs fan and a fierce competitor who brought enthusiasm and passion to everything he did.

Nothing brought him greater joy than supporting his children and grandchildren. He faithfully attended as many of their sporting events as possible, carefully keeping track of their schedules and maintaining detailed tallies of wins and losses. Whether cheering from the stands, attending theater productions, concerts, school programs, or other extracurricular activities, his pride in his family was evident to all.

Stan also enjoyed simple traditions that reflected his thoughtful nature. He loved clipping articles from the local newspaper, especially stories that interested family members, and never missed an opportunity to save and share their horoscopes.

His love, dedication, and unwavering support for those he cared about will be remembered and cherished by all who knew him.

The family extends its sincere appreciation to the medical teams who supported and cared for Stan over the past six years. Their compassion, expertise, and kindness meant so much to Stan and his family.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years Loretta (Wanucha); children Michele (Richard) Pinder of Miami Beach, Florida, Eileen (Robert) Schedel of Bolingbrook, Kevin (Jenifer) Wegrzyn of Parkton, Maryland, Jennifer (Bon) Whiting of Glen Arm, Maryland, and Brenda (Michael) Michalek of Naperville; grandchildren Danielle (Ryan) McGinnis, Lindsey (Fiancé Stephen Waldman) Pinder, Jared and Joshua Wegrzyn, Alexander, Lucas (Alizah), and Zachary Schedel, Teagan and Morgan Michalek,  Elijah  Whiting, Aly Wegrzyn, and Luci Whiting; sister Carole Goldman of Schererville, Indiana; and uncle to many dear nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Geri Sala.

Funeral Prayers for Stan will be held Saturday, June 20, 2026 at 9:30 am at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street (Route 38), Geneva proceeding to St. Peter Catholic Church, 1891 Kaneville Road, Geneva for Celebration of Funeral Mass at 10:30 am with Father Ryan Browning celebrant. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LyqPqDoR_KA

Burial will be held privately.
