Stanley Horst

Stanley Eugene Horst, age 89, of St. Charles, formerly of Geneva, passed away Monday, November 6, 2023 at Delnor Hospital.

He was born June 23, 1934, in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, the son of Elmer and Margaret (Beamer) Horst.

Stanley grew up in Reading, Pennsylvania and graduated from Wyomissing High School.  He proudly served his country in the United States Army.  He attended Seminary College for a time, Penn State University, and the University of Wisconsin.  He received a master’s degree in library science and worked many years as a law librarian.  He enjoyed researching historical legal cases upon his retirement.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Phyllis “Ann” (McNatt), son Philip of Aurora, and many dear friends and relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son Peter.

A visitation for Stanley will be held Saturday, November 11, 2023 from 9:30 am until the time of his funeral mass at 10:30 am at St. Peter Catholic Church, 1891 Kaneville Road, Geneva with Father Jonathan Bakkelund celebrant. www.youtube.com/watch?v=3uTdslzyEkk

Burial will be held Monday, November 13, 2023 at 11:00 am at Saints Peter & Paul Cemetery in Naperville.
