Signe C. Lencioni, age 72, of St Charles, Illinois, passed away Tuesday March 4, 2025, at Westbrook Senior Living in Streamwood, Illinois after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.
Signe was born December 9, 1952, in Menasha, Wisconsin, the daughter of Raymond and Bernice Bergeson.
Signe was raised in Batavia, where she spent her childhood surrounded by her many siblings and friends. At the age of 16, Signe began working at AT&T as a phone operator where she continued to work in various capacities until her retirement in 2013 serving 45 years with the company, something that Signe was immensely proud of. Signe was an avid bowler in her early years and spent a lot of time at the Batavia Bowl. Signe enjoyed collecting things, whether it be Beanie Babies, salt & pepper shakers or Duct Tape, there was always something new to track down.
In 2013, Signe and her husband Dan retired down to Port St Lucie, Florida to be closer to his mother. Signe was a very active member in the Savanna Club community. She enjoyed her dogs, water aerobics, BINGO, Mexican Train Dominoes, serving the Women’s Club and being silly with her dear friends. Signe and Dan made wonderful memories and friendships within their community and will be greatly missed.
Signe “Sig” Lencioni was a loving wife of 36 years to Dan; loving mother to daughters Sarah Marcrum (Travis) of Elgin, Danielle Murphy (Ryan) of Nevada and Erin Enockson (Chris) of St Charles and her son Patrick Lencioni (Andrea) of Iowa. Signe loved visits with her grandchildren Nyah, Olivia, Charleigh, Finnegan, Liam, Parker, McKinnley, Hazel, Margaret, Braxton, and Noah. She is also survived by her sisters Susan (Bob) of New Mexico and Sharon (Brad) of California and brother Scott of Florida; and many other dear relatives and friends.
Signe was preceded in death by her husband Dan, her mother and father Bernice and Raymond Bergeson and her brothers Stephen, Stuart, Stan and Scott.
Interment will be held Saturday, April 5, 2025 at 10:00 am at Oak Hill Cemetery in Geneva.
