Sarah E. Wilkie, age 40, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at Northwestern Hospital in Chicago surrounded by her loving family.
She was born February 10, 1984, in St. Charles, the daughter of William and Elizabeth (Ingold) Wilkie.
Sarah had a passion for life that was evident in everything she did. She loved being active and playing sports, especially basketball. She loved being a coach - Volleyball, Basketball and even softball for a few years. She loved being an educator. She loved helping people. She loved all the absolutely amazing people she had a chance to meet and grow relationships with over the years. She loved all her friends and would do anything in the world for them. She loved her Nike’s and sneakers, couldn’t be “boring, plain shoes” though (She even had a dog named Nike when she was growing up.) She loved her Batavia Bulldogs, Chicago Bulls and Tennessee Lady Vols. She loved her dogs, sometimes more than people. She loved her family. Most of all, Sarah loved life itself. She fought so hard for so long the last 9 years with her medical issues, that every single day was a gift to her. Sarah will forever be a fighter, strong, compassionate and caring. Her family, friends and everyone that had a chance to know her will love her forever as well. Sarah is a graduate of Batavia High School, Waubonsee C.C. & Northern Illinois University
Sarah is survived by her parents and brother Brad.
She was preceded in death by all 4 of her grandparents. Her uncle Mike Ingold, uncle Tom Ingold, Aunt and uncle Jim & Susan Wilkie and her longtime boyfriend Daniel Lage. And can not forget her beloved dogs – Zoey, Buddy & Nike.
