Sarah L. Totman, age 55, of Geneva, passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at Presence Pine View Care Center in St. Charles, with her loving family by her side.
She was born January 20, 1963 in Ann Arbor, Michigan, the daughter of Daniel Rubel & Anne Chevalier.
Sarah grew up in DeKalb, Illinois and attended Kishwaukee College, studied British Literature at Oxford University as an exchange student, and graduated from Northern Illinois University with honors and a degree in Organizational/Corporate Communications. Upon graduation she worked for Spiegel Corporation as a technical writer and Caron International in charge of color forecasting. She also freelanced as a Color Consultant for several years.
Sarah had several passions all of which were about helping others. She was a loving mother, wife, dancer, teacher, listener, and friend.
She is survived by her husband of 25 years Andrew Totman; children Luke, Benjamen, and Chloe Totman; mother Anne Chevalier of St. Charles; sister Anastasia (Paul) Cyr of Colorado; brothers Nick Rubel of Texas and Dan (Rita) Rubel of Maryland; several aunts and uncles; and many dear nieces, nephews, sistesr and brothers in-law.
She was preceded in death by her father Daniel N. Rubel.
Visitation for Sarah will be held Sunday, July 15, 2018 from 1:00 to 5:00 pm with a liturgical service at 4:45 pm at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street, Geneva.
Funeral prayers will be held Monday, July 16 at 9:30 am at Malone Funeral Home proceeding to St. Peter Catholic Church, 1891 Kaneville Road, Geneva for Celebration of Funeral Mass at 10:30 am with Father Jonathan Bakkelund and Father Nathanael Roberts Celebrants.
Interment will be held privately.
