Sandra Kay “Sandy” Kintner, age 81, of Batavia, passed away Thursday, May 20, 2021 at The Holmstad in Batavia.
She was born February 27, 1940, in Vandalia, Illinois, the daughter of George & Juanita (Frakes) Sidener.
Sandy grew up in Southern Illinois and attended Edwardsville high school. She met and married Daniel Kintner in August 1960. They relocated to the Chicago area where Dan worked for the General Accounting Offices (GAO) and Sandy for Standard Oil. Sandy stayed at home to raise three children then worked in accounting at The Conservative Baptist Home Mission Society.
Sandy was a member of the Red Hat Society and followed her passion to serve senior adults by co-leading the 'Forget-Me-Not' women's group at her church. She also advocated for important causes and was known as the neighborhood grandma. Her hobbies over the years included gardening, cooking, birdwatching, knitting, painting and hosting events.
Sandy loved God and loved people. Her life is defined by her strong faith in Jesus and her life verse (Jeremiah 29:11). She was a strong prayer warrior within her sphere, often discipling others in their relationship with God.
Sandy is now home with her Lord and Savior. Her family rejoices to know that she is free to enjoy the beauty, splendor and wonder of Heaven, and that they will one day be reunited with her.
Sandra is survived by her loving husband of over 60 years Daniel “Dan”; children Nannette Howard of Duluth, Georgia, Laurie (Keith) Kornafel of Schaumburg, and Mark (Michelle) Kintner of Naperville; grandchildren Mitchel Kintner, Meghan Kintner, and Madison Kornafel; brothers Larnie (Sandy) of Maryville, Ted (Gloria) of Sebring, Florida, and Joe (Shannon) of Ava; and many other dear relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
