Salvatore A. "Sal" Lombardo Obituary

Salvatore A. “Sal” Lombardo, age 87, of Mundelein, passed away Friday, January 20, 2023 with his loving family by his side.

He was born November 18, 1935, in Chicago, the son of Nicholas and Josephine (Rizzo) Lombardo.

Sal was known for his incredible generosity, devotion to his family, and ability to make people laugh. A successful businessman with many accomplishments, he will be remembered as someone who never hesitated to help those in need, and will be greatly missed by his loving family and always remembered in their hearts.

His family is sincerely grateful to the many friends who gave their support and comfort during this time of loss.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years Doris (Franczyk); daughters Lisa (Robert) Benson of Arizona and Nicole (Joe) Markel of Elburn; grandchildren Brianna, Nicholas, and Quinton Benson and Lauren Markel; sister Frances Peco of Mundelein; nephews Michael (Mary) and Joe Peco; and many other dear family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial mass for Sal will be held at a later date at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church in Sugar Grove.
