Salvatore J. Italiano Jr., age 95, of Geneva, passed away Thursday, April 30, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his family.
He was born March 5, 1925 in New York, New York, the son of Salvatore and Anna (Costantino) Italiano.
Salvatore proudly served his country in the United States Navy and worked in construction for many years. Salvatore was a skilled craftsman by trade and this was evident with his love of woodworking, working all around the house (inside and out) and being able to fix just about anything. He loved spending time outdoors, soaking up the sun, and playing golf. His greatest pastime, however, was spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years Tina (Incorvaia); children Salvatore (Marie) of New York, Carlo (Debra) of New York, and Annette (Christopher) Humes of Geneva; grandchildren Christina Italiano;, Anthony, and Joseph Italiano; C. J. and Matthew Humes; siblings Jack (Josie) of New York, Mary (Peter) Lolis of Florida, Larry (Carmela) of New York, Anthony (Pat) Liano of New York, Diana Byrnes of New York, Fanny (Lou) Gennari of New York, Joseph Italiano of New York; and many other dear nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Frank, and sister-in-law Belen.
Funeral Mass for Salvatore will be held privately at St. Peter Catholic Church, 1891 Kaneville Road, Geneva, Illinois 60134 with Father Charles Warren, Celebrant.
