Ruth A. Harwood, age 88, of North Aurora, passed away Saturday, November 1, 2025, at home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born May 20, 1937, in Elmhurst, the daughter of George and Lucille (Wagner) Alles.
Ruth enjoyed watching all of the Chicago sport teams, traveling with her family, visiting with relatives, meeting up with her daughters at Starbucks on Sunday, knitting, enjoying a glass of wine, and cheating at the game Domino’s.
She is survived by her daughters Patricia of Aurora, Susan Adams of North Aurora, Nanci of North Aurora, and Carol (Ray) Bishop of Aurora; grandchildren Brad and Doug Simpson, and Cara, Brynna, and Garen Bishop; sister Janet (Clint) Prust of California; nephew and niece Jim and Diane Prust; and many other dear relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother George Jr., and her devoted husband of 56 years George who passed away in 2017.
Funeral prayers for Ruth will be held Saturday, November 15, 2025 at 9:30 am at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street (Route 38), Geneva proceeding to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 801 Oak Street, North Aurora for Celebration of Funeral Mass at 10:30 am with Pastor Max Lasrado celebrant.
A visitation will be held Friday, November 14 from 3:00 – 8:00 pm at Malone Funeral Home.
Private burial will be held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.
