Ronald "Ron" Aaron Steele, age 83, went Home to be with Jesus on Sunday, September 17, 2023 with his wife and daughters by his side.
He was born November 13, 1939 in Osceola, IA, the son of Wayne and Arlene Steele.
Ron grew up in Iowa and graduated from Osceola High School. He enrolled at Wheaton College, where he graduated with a BA in Business Administration. He completed post-graduate work at Northwestern University. Throughout his career, Ron worked in both public and private accounting.
Ron met his wife, Linda in July of 1967. They were married in 1968. They bought a home in Geneva, IL where they lived for 54 years and raised their two daughters.
Ron accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at a very young age and was a strong man of faith. He was a loving father and grandfather who prayed for his family daily. He was a quiet and humble man who took pleasure in the simple joys of life. He loved photography and old cars. He played the trumpet and had a beautiful singing voice. Ron loved nature and enjoyed the beauty of Minnesota on the many trips he made to visit his daughters when they attended Bethel College.
He is survived by his wife Linda (Sandin) of 54 years; children Amy (Steve) Harris of Lisle, IL and Emily (Jason) Schoolmeesters of Coon Rapids, MN; grandchildren Sadie Harris and Aaron, Noah and Lydia Schoolmeesters.
Ron is preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Arlene and his sister, Janet.
A visitation for Ron will be held Thursday, September 28, 2023 at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street (Route 38) in Geneva from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, September 29, 2023 at 11:00 am at Chapelstreet Church, 2300 South Street in Geneva with a luncheon to follow.
