Obituary

Ronald J. Singer, beloved husband of Marilyn (Peterson) Singer, of Geneva, passed away on March 10, 2022, ten days short of his 90th birthday. Ronald was born on March 19, in Chicago, to Raymond and Stella (Wolanski) Singer. 

He is survived by his loving wife Marilyn (his cutie); children Kyndra Singer, Kevin (Cara) Singer, Kenneth (Barbara) Singer, and Carol Stamatakos; grandchildren Nicole Stamatakos, Paige and Rebecca Singer; and sister Mary Ann (Singer) Roberts.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Stella (Wolanski) Singer and sister Phyllis (Singer) Shea. 

Ronald Singer was a man of integrity. His caring and protective character made a lifelong impact as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. His intellectual influence made a substantial mark at Proviso West High School as a U.S. History/Civics teacher, wrestling coach, and 1971 class sponsor. He was also influential with the Proviso hockey club. His passion for the U.S. Constitution provided the opportunity to serve those seeking a high school diploma and also U.S Citizenship through the GED program at Triton College.

Ronald, a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War loved his country. He was an active member of the American Legion and influential community leader serving as a 4th Ward Alderman in Geneva for 20 years. The City of Geneva is flying the city flag at half-mast to honor Ronald J. Singer. 

A visitation for Ronald will be held Sunday, March 27, 2022 from noon until the time of his Celebration of Life Service with military honors at 3:00 pm at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street (Route 38), Geneva.
