Ronald A. Winter, age 82, of Geneva, passed away Thursday, December 19, 2024, at the Bickford in St. Charles surrounded by his loving family.
He was born May 6, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Alfred and Jeanette (Wagner) Winter.
Ron was born in Chicago, May 6, 1942. He graduated from Glenbard East High School in Lombard, IL. A year after graduating, he married Patricia (Kroon) Winter. His first job was working at National Tea Grocery stores. Before retiring in 2015, he spent 20 years serving members of our community as owner of Ron’s Handyman Service. He found great joy providing repair or improvement work they wanted done in their homes. Ron loved his Savior Jesus Christ, and he demonstrated his love by serving his church. He was loyal and dependable. When he began a project, he finished it, and he finished it well. Ron enjoyed camping and going on road trips with his family. His hobbies were fishing and O Gauge model railroading.
Ronald is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Patricia (Kroon); children Ronald (Lesa) Winter of Mississippi, Randall (Holly) Winter of Elgin and Daniel (Heather) Winter of Sheboygan, Wisconsin; grandchildren Richard (Laysha) Winter, Amy (Randy) White, Rachel (Nic) Emricson, Bethany (Justin) Kosek, Erica, Ethan and Emma Winter; great grandchildren Connor Askew, A.J. Winter, Mackenzie, Sarah and Angela White, Addy Schaefer, and Freya Winter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred N. Winter, Jeanette E, (Wagner) Winter and his brother Dennis C. Winter.
Visitation will be held Friday, December 27, 2024, from 4:00-7:00 pm at Malone Funeral Home, 324 East State Street (Rt. 38) Geneva, Illinois.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at 10:00 am at Faith Lutheran Church 1745 Kaneville Rd, Geneva, IL.
Burial will follow at Garfield Cemetery in Campton Hills.
