Robert J. “Boog” Berendt, age 63, of Batavia, passed away Friday, July 31, 2020 at home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born May 11, 1957, in Elmhurst, the son of Daniel and Anita (Nation) Berendt.
Boog graduated from Willowbrook High School and attended Illinois State University. Most recently, he worked as an auto parts manager for the Ziegler Auto Group. He was an avid sports fan and especially loved cheering for the Bears and Cubs. Boog greatly enjoyed playing baseball and golf as leisure activities, as well as spending daily time at the gym. He was a loving father and grandfather to his daughter and grandaughter, as well as a dedicated uncle to all of his nieces and nephews. Overall, his greatest enjoyement in life came from the time he spent with his family and friends, he will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his daughter Krista (Paul) Wangler and her sibling Angela (Paul) Prusinksi both of Batavia; grandchildren Alexandra and Dakota; siblings David (Siobhan) of N. Aurora, Michael (Nancy) of Batavia, and Steven (Rita) of Geneva; and many other dear relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services for Boog will be held privately.
