Robert Crosta, Sr. Obituary

Robert L. Crosta, Sr., aged 92, of Sugar Grove, Illinois, Korean War veteran, passed away Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Delnor Hospital in Geneva with his loving family by his side.

Bob was born August 25, 1932, in Newark, New Jersey, to Armond and Marie (Botto) Crosta, and lived nearly his whole life in the Garden State until moving to Illinois last year to be closer to his son. One of six children, Bob learned early that family comes first, and he lived his entire life by that moto. After leaving the Air Force, Bob was a real jack-of-all-trades, working various jobs throughout his life, including a joint business with his brother, Tommy, where they upholstered everything from boats to classic cars. Even after retiring, he preferred to stay busy, always working on one home improvement project or another. He could be counted on to fix just about anything. An avid sports fan, Bob faithfully cheered on both his New York teams, the Giants and the Yankees, every year. When not rallying behind his teams, you could find Bob reading, watching Westerns, playing Canasta, or spending time with his grandchildren letting them win at Monopoly.

Fastidious about his gluten allergy except when it came to his favorite Italian dishes, Bob loved a good meal, but he loved the people he shared it with even more; therefore, in lieu of flowers, we ask you please remember Bob by sharing your favorite meal with those you love most.

Bob is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Angela DiPaola Crosta; his beloved son, Mike (Morgan) of Sugar Grove; and his treasured grandchildren, Emma (12) and Izzy (9). He is also survived by his brothers, Ray (Rosemarie) and Tommy, as well as many other dear relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by both his parents; his brother, Al; his sisters, Alice Foster and Jeanette Martin; and his son, Robert, Jr.

Services for Bob will be held privately.
