Richard Havemann Obituary

Richard J. Havemann, age 94, of Elburn, formerly of Winfield, passed away Thursday, February 4, 2021 at Delnor Hospital in Geneva surrounded by his family.

He was born October 11, 1926 in Chicago, the son of William and Genevieve (Keenley) Havemann.

Richard proudly served his country in the United States Navy.  He worked as a salesman in the corrugated box industry for St. Regis, Western Kraft, Willamette, and lastly, Weyerhaeuser, the company he retired from.  He loved fishing and bowling.  However, his greatest enjoyment was spending time with his friends and family.  He will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Joyce (Marsh); children Jessica (David) Kolman of Winfield, Rebecca (Joe) Hebert of Warrenville, Gregory (Judy) of Aurora, Katheryn (Dennis) Grobe of Byron, Nick (Tracy) of St. Charles, and Emily (Ben) Borsa of Bartlett; 11 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sister Joanie Miget of Missouri; and many other dear relatives and friends.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents and siblings William II, Robert, and John Havemann.

Funeral service and burial will be held privately at St. Gall’s Catholic Church in Elburn and Assumption Cemetery in Wheaton, Illinois. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made for Parkinson’s research at Parkinson's Foundation, PO Box 6003, Albert Lea MN  56007-9902 or to St. Gall Catholic Church 43W885 Hughes Road, Elburn, IL 60119.
