Richard Lee Brubaker went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on February 17, 2026, at the age of 92.
Dick was born May 28th, 1933, in Kewanee, IL, to Frank and Eloise Brubaker. He married Elizabeth Johnson on June 25, 1960. He graduated from Cornell College and earned an MBA from the University of Iowa. Dick and Beth moved to Elburn, IL, in 1976 where they raised their six children.
An innovative entrepreneur, Dick founded his company, Richwrap, in 1972 and functioned as CEO until the age of 78. His passion for fast-pitch softball earned him acclaim as a pitcher both nationally and internationally. In 2018, he was inducted into the ISC and the USA Softball Halls of Fame.
Dick was a generous and loving man, an avid reader, thinker and debater, an accomplished sportsman, passionate follower of Christ, and respected member of Chapel Street Church.
His life impacted the lives of many people. Most importantly, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Bob and Jim, and his son Brett.
He is survived by his wife, Beth, five children, nineteen grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. He will be honored, celebrated and missed by them all.
His life will be commemorated and celebrated on February 27, 2026 at Chapelstreet Church, 2300 South Street, Geneva. Visitation 1–3 pm; Celebration of Life 3 pm.
