Philana M. Lee, of Geneva, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at Loyola Medical Center Hospital in Proviso Township, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born June 18, 1968, in Chicago, the daughter of Shee Yee and Jenny (Ng) Lee.
Philana graduated from St. Francis High School in Wheaton and from Benedictine University in Lisle with both an undergraduate degree and an MBA. She worked in international marketing for AGCO Corporation in Batavia for 29 years. Philana also spent much time helping her mom with the family restaurant, Gen Hoe, in Geneva on weekends. She was a world traveler, lover of all fine foods, wine and art, and Chicago sports. She enjoyed spending time outdoors taking walks, riding her bike, and visiting new places. She most loved spending time with dear family and friends.
She is survived by her loving mother Jenny Lee; sister-in-law Helen Chan DMD; Uncles and Aunts Michael (Dolly) Ng, Raphael (Cathy) Ng, Eddie (Kim) Ng, and Angela (Michael) Driessen; cousins Nathaniel (Jade) Ng, Amanda (Robert) Sanders, Elijah Sanders, and Christian Sanders; and many other dear relatives and friends.
Philana was preceded in death by her father Shee Yee Lee, her paternal grandparents Ying & Sun-Yoke Lee, maternal grandparents Luke & Tang Chun-Sun Ng, brother Peter Lee, and cousin Mark Tak-Wah Driessen.
Funeral Prayers will be held Monday, May 23, 2022 at 9:30 am at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street (Route 38), Geneva, proceeding to St. Peter Catholic Church, 1891 Kaneville Road, Geneva for Celebration of Funeral Mass at 10:30 am with Father Paul White celebrant.
Burial will follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery in Geneva.
Visitation will be held Sunday, May 22 from 1:00 – 5:00 pm at Malone Funeral Home.
