Patricia E. "Pat" Bagg Obituary

Patricia E. “Pat” Malone Bagg, age 93, of St. Charles, exited this world and went on to her next adventure on Sunday, January 29, 2023.

Pat entered this world on September 21, 1929 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Chicago and attended Presentation Grade School and Immaculate High School.  In 1947 the Malone family moved to a farm off East Wilson Street in Batavia, which is now owned by Fermilab.  Pat worked in the restaurant business for 45 years and was the first female bartender in Kane County.  For the last 10 years of her career she served as hostess at the Corfu Restaurant in St. Charles.

Pat loved working in the service industry and interacting with people.  Sorrento’s Restaurant in Maple Park was her favorite place to dine.  She had a soft spot for animals and was an accomplished dancer.  She gave her opinion without flinching or apology.  Pat’s sense of humor was keen and when she laughed her blue eyes would sparkle.  Though she lost a child, her right leg, and her husband, she did not allow adversity to hold her back and she enjoyed her life to the fullest.

Pat is survived by her children William (Cindy Zacher) Bagg of St. Charles, Debra (Gary) Redmond of Dallas, and Michael of St. Charles; grandchildren Cassandra Bohlin of Elgin, Amanda Bagg of Santa Monica, CA, Nancy (Geoff) Starr of Cortland, Jeremy Maddox of Hilo, Hawaii, Scott Zacher of Leeds, AL, and Eric Zacher of Jacksonville, Florida; great grandchildren Jared Maddox, Dalton and Sydney Bohlin, and Hunter and Mackenzie Starr; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Charles “Chuck” Bagg; daughter Tammy Lynn; parents and founders of Malone Funeral Home Frank and Edna Malone; brothers Francis, Frank, Robert, Walter, John, and Michael; sisters Lorraine (Walter) Brucker, Marguerite “Peggy” (James “Doc”) Hannon; nephews Walter “Butch” Brucker Jr, Christopher Malone, and Kevin Zacher; niece Peggy Lynn Kuska; and grandson-in-law Greg Bohlin.
