Nanjean “Nan” (Farver) Lee
Born: May 14, 1940
Died: July 1, 2021
Nan Lee, age 81, passed away Thursday, July 1, 2021, at Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital in Geneva, Illinois.
Nan was born May 14, 1940, to Florence and Donald Farver in Aurora, Illinois, and was a 1958 graduate of Batavia High School. A long-time resident of St. Charles, she was a passionate volunteer and advocate for the St. Charles Moose Lodge, Women of the Moose, and Mooseheart. From serving fish fry on Friday nights for over 30 years to gathering with fellow Moose members for spaghetti dinner and lightning on Wednesdays, she was quite the joyful fixture and constant for the St. Charles Lodge. When she wasn’t encouraging strangers she just met to join the Moose, she was making sure everyone in the Fox Valley knew The Blue Goose had the best ground beef in the Tri-Cities.
She is survived by her two daughters, Kelli (Jerry) Reddinger of League City, Texas, Kerri (Chris) Young of Elburn, and her brother James (Carrie) Farver of Batavia, along with her two grandchildren, Genevieve (Gigi) Reddinger and David Young. Nan was also proud to be the aunt of her two nieces, Katie (Raul) Herrera and Becky (Amine) Bekkali, and her nephew Michael Farver. Her memory will forever remain in her family’s minds and hearts, and she will be sorely missed by the friends she kept; a social circle of great magnitude that was unlike any you’ve ever seen.
Nan was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Lee, of 43 very long years (as he would laugh and say), and her beloved daughter Lori Bowgren, who tragically passed far too soon in life.
Nan loved doing good deeds and helping others, and since she will no longer be able to stop and smell the roses, her daughters are requesting in lieu of flowers, monetary donations are made to the Casey Duerr/Jeffrey Brunet Memorial. Nan adored Casey and Jeffrey, life partners who were dear friends of the Lee family. Casey unexpectedly died the very same day as Nan, minutes apart from each other. Any donations and contributions to the GoFundMe created for Jeffrey would make Nan happy. She would have contributed to it if she was still with us all today.
A celebration of life will occur July 29, 2021, at the St. Charles Moose Lodge from 4 - 7 pm. There will be a portion of the memorial reserved from 5 - 6 pm for individuals to come up and share a memory, story, or special moment they shared with Nan. Due to the unfortunate rise in cases, the family is requesting those who are not vaccinated to arrive and remain masked during the service.
