Mary Margaret Link, age 73, of St. Charles, passed away Saturday, April 22, 2023 at her residence surrounded by her family.
She was born September 4, 1949, in Elmhurst, the daughter of Bernard and Jacqueline (Sandburg) Seger.
Mary grew up on a farm in Bartlett, Illinois, and loved riding her favorite horse, Scout, and playing with her cherished dog, Rusty. She adored dogs and spending time with her family. Mary was a beloved wife to Truman and a loving mother to Jackie and Tammie. She was an avid birdwatcher and enjoyed gardening in her spare time. In the summer, she was happiest swimming, sitting on the deck swing, and watching the hummingbirds flit from feeder to feeder in the backyard.
Mary was diagnosed with glioblastoma last April. She fought her cancer with strength and courage. We will miss her dearly, but we know that she is finally at rest in eternal peace and will continue to watch over us from heaven.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years Truman; two daughters Tammie (Michael) Lieb of Streamwood and Jacqueline Link of St. Charles; siblings Thomas (Gay Lynn) Seger of Harvard, John (Pat) Seger of Plainfield, Steve (Debbie) Seger of Hampshire, Nancy (Dan) Hallgren of Missouri, and Jeanie Figge of Villa Park.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Geraldine Marrero.
