Martin L. "Marty" Handley

Martin L. “Marty” Handley age 82 of A pple River Valley, Illinois formerly of Addison passed away Monday July 2, 2018 at Mercy Medical Center in Dubuque, Iowa.

He was born November 24, 1935 in Chicago, IL. the son of John and Ann (Milak) Handley.

Marty worked many years as an Electrical Designer for S&C Electric in Chicago. He proudly served in the Army Reserves. He was an avid sports fan especially the Chicago Bears, loved to fish, play golf and woodwork. His greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with his family and he will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years MaryAnn (Stapleton); three daughters Madlyn Steffey, Jill (Joe) Meciej and Donna (Michael) Bode all of Geneva; nine grandchildren Amanda Bellino, Phillip (Stephanie) Bellino, Jeremy (Eileen) Meciej, Samantha Bellino, Alexandra Bode, Katrina Meciej Cassandra Steffey, Marissa Bode and Kaelara Meciej; 3 great grandchildren Emelia, Catherine and Abraham Bellino; sister Marie Mirro and sister in law Antonia Handley. Also survived by many nieces, nephews’ relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Jack Handley and sister Cathy Rasori.

Funeral prayers will be held Saturday July 7, 2018 at12:15 pm at Malone Funeral Home 324 E. State St. (Rt.38) Geneva proceeding to St. Peter Catholic Church 1891 Kaneville Rd. Geneva for Celebration of Funeral Mass at 1:00 pm with Father Jonathan Bakkelund Celebrant.

Interment will be held privately.

Visitation will be held Friday July 6 from 4:00-8:00 pm at the Malone Funeral Home Geneva with a Liturgical service at 7:45 pm.
