She was born on February 25, 1945, in Moline, Illinois, the cherished daughter of Keith and Lil (Benesevich) Vinson. She grew up in LaCrosse, Wisconsin, attended Blessed Sacrament grade school and graduated from Aquinas high school there.Marla shared 59 beautiful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Jack, building a life filled with family, dedication, and service to others.
Marla was a mainstay in her professional community, working for 34 years for the Carpenters Pension Fund of Illinois in Geneva. Outside of her career, her vibrant passions and generous heart touched many lives. She had a lifelong love for horses and found great joy in assisting handicapped children with therapeutic riding lessons. An avid gardener, Marla poured love into the earth just as she did into her community, where she regularly volunteered at the St. Vincent de Paul “Déjà Vu” thrift store and dedicated her time to guiding others through the RCIA Christian education program at St. Peter Catholic Church. Above all, Marla was a deeply devoted grandmother who treasured every moment spent with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Jack Hoelscher; her loving daughter, Laura (Scott) Kieper of Geneva; and her adored grandchildren, Eric (Mackenzie) Kieper, Ryan Kieper, and Danielle Kieper.
