Mark J. Spetly, age 73, of Wheaton, passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at his residence in Wheaton with his loving family by his side.
He was born September 18, 1951, in Chicago, the son of Alexander and Anne Spetly of Geneva.
Mark was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who cherished time with his family and friends in both Illinois and Upper Michigan. His greatest passions were hunting and shooting sports, activities that brought him joy and allowed him to connect with nature. He will be remembered for his kindness, deep voice, laugh, sense of humor, and unwavering love for his family.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Helen; daughters Alexis Schram of Geneva and Kristina Spetly of Chicago; grandchildren Jake, Annie, and Johnny Schram, and Karoline Sell; sister Suzanne (Helbing), her husband Mark, niece Emily, and nephew Stephen of Hoffman Estates.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alexander and Anne Spetly of Geneva.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 27, 2025, from 5:00 pm until the time of his memorial service at 7:30 pm at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street (Route 38), Geneva.
Burial will be private at Oak Hill Cemetery, 799 Bennett Street, Geneva, Illinois.
