Marilyn J. Meister, age 94, of St. Charles, passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at the Bickford of St. Charles surrounded by her loving family.
She was born October 31, 1929, in Chelsea, Iowa, the daughter of Camille and Blanche (Musel) VanDewalle.
Marilyn always enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She loved her cat Blackie. She liked caring for her yard, especially her rose garden. She experienced her first boat ride in her 90s with her family at Pebble Beach.
In her earlier years, she enjoyed ballroom dancing at the famous Melody Mill. Marilyn was proud of the fact that she was the block captain of her senior community.
She is survived by her daughters Karly (Dennis) Gemignani of St. Charles and Janine Sullivan of California; grandchildren Cara (Brian) Silvey and Dan (Konstance) Sullivan; great grandchildren Easton, Everly, and Savannah Sullivan; sister Cheryl (Dick) Duhacek; sister-in-law Susie VanDewalle; and many dear nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Richard and David, son John Stahlhut, and her husband Ralph.
Funeral Prayers will be held Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at 9:30 am at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street (Route 38), Geneva proceeding to St. Peter Catholic Church, 1891 Kaneville Road, Geneva for Celebration of Funeral Mass at 10:30 am with Father John McFadden celebrant. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in River Grove.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 19 from 4:00 – 8:00 pm at Malone Funeral Home with a liturgical wake service at 7:45 pm.
