Marie F. Lackey Obituary

Marie F. Lackey, age 99, of Batavia, passed away peacefully Thursday, February 25, 2021 surrounded by her loving family at Michaelsen Health Center in Batavia.

She was born October 28, 1921, in Chicago, the daughter of Joseph and Carmella (Miceli) Barone.

Marie worked as a secretary for the Geneva School District for many years. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, and playing cards, but her greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with family and friends. She will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her children Judy (Karl) Motzenbecker of Geneva and Debra (Tom) Thomas of Geneva; daughter-in-law Vicki Lackey of Geneva; grandchildren Darren (Courtney) Lackey, Dawn (Bryan) Cummins, David (Kathleen) Motzenbecker, Dana (Rich) Casey, Alyssa (Joe) Lee, and Ian (Katie) Thomas; 17 great-grandchildren; and many other dear relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Phyllis Moore and Virginia Williamson, son Ken Lackey, and her loving husband Floid, who passed away in 1990.

Funeral Mass and Interment will be held privately.
