Marianne Elizondo

Marianne Elizondo, age 61, of Geneva, Illinois passed away on Friday, March 6, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born March 27, 1958 in Chicago, the daughter of James and Dolores (Ghelfi) Cogley.

Marianne enjoyed knitting, painting, going on walks, and playing with her grandchildren. She had a love of food and coffee like no other. Those who knew her will always remember her deep love of the ocean and sunshine.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She had a way of making everyone she met feel like an old friend, it was just who she was. She will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years Michael of Geneva; children William (Mandi) Cogley of Plainfield, Marianne (Lawrence) Benedek of Geneva, Kristie (Seth Tapins) Elizondo of Geneva, Jacqueline Kearney of North Aurora; grandchildren Brandon Elizondo, James Cogley, Tyler Elizondo, Emma Cogley, Brianna Benedek, Mackenzie Benedek, Corey Elizondo, Liam Kearney, Mikaela Kearney, Carter Kearney; siblings Linda (Wes) Brown, Karen (Michael) Wright, Jackie (Paul) Armentrout, and James Cogley; and many other dear relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents and sister Nancy Finn.

Funeral prayers for Marianne will be held Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at 9:30 am at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street (Route 38), Geneva proceeding to St.Patrick Catholic Church, 400 Cedar St, St. Charles for Celebration of Funeral Mass at 10:30 am with Father Charles Warren, Celebrant.

Burial will be private.

Visitation will be held Monday, March 16 from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street (Route 38), Geneva, Illinois with a liturgical wake service at 8:45 pm.
