Margo J. Tucker, age 88, of Geneva, passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at Seasons Hospice in Naperville.
She was born June 12, 1932, the daughter of Adolf and Margaret (Ader) Almgren.
Margo was bornin Cincinnati and raised in Hamilton, Ohio where she graduated high school and was the head majorette for the band. She then attended Ohio Northern University where she was voted May queen. She graduated with a teaching degree and taught second grade.
She then moved to Germany, where her husband was deployed in the US Army, and gave birth to David. They returned to the states and she gave birth to Juliene. She was a wonderful mother and was active in many school activities. Upon moving to Geneva, she became a member of the United Methodist Church of Geneva for 45 years, where she played in the handbell choir for several years.
Margo was a talented stitcher, quilter, and knitter. She loved knitting throws for local charities. She also loved playing and watching tennis. She enjoyed her workouts, playing games with friends and spending time with family. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her. She will be greatly missed and lovingly held in our hearts forever.
She is survived by her children Juliene (Ken) Guffey of Geneva and David (Justine) of Minnesota; grandchildren Daniel and Michael Guffey; and many other dear relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband of 48 years Robert D. Tucker who passed away in 2003.
Funeral Service for Margo will be held Saturday, March 6, 2021 at 11:00 am at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street (Route 38), Geneva with Rev. Rich Darr officiating.
Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Geneva.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 5 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at Malone Funeral Home.
Due to the current health care restrictions, we are limited to 50 guests at a time, standards of occupancy will be upheld. To attend, please be prepared to wear a mask and/or wait if occupancy standards need to be met. We kindly ask that you immediately exit the funeral home after paying your respects to the family so that others may have the same opportunity.
