Lois Jane Johnson, of St. Charles, passed away Friday, January 19, 2024, at home with her loving family by her side.
She was born August 20, 1935, in Chicago Heights, the daughter of Herman and Gertrude (Reynolds) Barlow.
Lois was a lifelong animal lover, she rescued and raised countless strays including cats, dogs, and even a goose. She also worked closely with local animal rescues. Lois was an avid runner and enjoyed gardening. She worked her entire life as a phlebotomist and raised three children. Lois was a gentle, free spirited, loving mother, and wife who was greatly loved by all who were blessed to know her.
She is survived by her children Cathy Johnson and Robert Johnson II both of St. Charles; grandchildren Torey Hubbard and Alexander Sognalia; and many other dear relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son Hugh Grant Hubbard, and her devoted husband Robert who passed away in 2022.
A graveside service for Lois will be held Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Anderson Animal Shelter, 1000 S. La Fox Street, South Elgin, Illinois 60177 would be appreciated.
