Obituary
Lawrence J. “Larry” Calhan, age 92, of Geneva, IL passed away Wednesday, February 8th, 2023 at River Crossing of St. Charles with his loving family by his side.
He was born on January 6th, 1931 in Ottawa to Bernard and Irene (Hogan) Calhan.
Larry is a graduate of Bradley University, Peoria Illinois. He is a proud Korean War veteran of the US Army. His early career was commercial furnishings and design. He had many entrepreneurial pursuits and never stopped dreaming. Larry loved history, genealogy, telling jokes, a good steak dinner and an occasional Irish Whiskey.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years Bonnie (Peden); children Colleen (Chuck), grandchildren; Rachel and Samuel Lewis of Powell, Ohio; Kathleen (Todd), grandchildren; Robert, Miles, Townes and Iris Adams of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Maureen (Dave) grandchildren: Natalie (Phil) Lukowicz, Audrey and John Bruce of Evergreen, Colorado; Celene Calhan grandchildren Eric Wenc, Elaina (Garrett) great-grandchild, Forrest Fales, Evan Wenc of East Dundee, IL, Michael (Kristine) grandchildren; Hallie, Cameron and Anna Calhan of Crystal Lake, Il. and Patrick (Lea), grandchildren; Jackson and James Duke of Riverwoods, Il, John and Betty Peden brother-in-law and sister-in-law of Ogilvie, MN and Barbara Calhan, sister-in-law of Warsaw, IN.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Richard.
A visitation for Larry will be held Saturday, February 18, 2023 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM until the time of his Funeral Mass at 11:30 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 6N491 Crane Road, St. Charles with Father Dan Deutsch Celebrant.
Burial to follow at Marmion Abbey Cemetery in Aurora, Il.
