Kishore Mahadev

Kishore (“Kish”) Mahadev, 50, of Geneva, Illinois, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on December 17th, 2021 in Austin, Texas.

Born on March 29, 1971 in Dindigul, India, Kishore was the beloved son of Dr. Vennar (“Dave”) and Shashi Mahadev of Kingsford. He is survived by his wife Kelly (McCoy) Mahadev, his sons Blake and Jackson, his parents, his sister Neena Mahadev, his maternal grandmother Lalitha Krishnamoorthy, his in-laws James and Kim McCoy, and Jamie McCoy and family. He also left behind the family’s affectionate chocolate lab, Gordie.

Kishore attended Dickinson Area Catholic School and was a 1989 graduate of Kingsford High School. He subsequently graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Construction Management. He also pursued studies in civil and electronic engineering and business management. He remained in the sign and steel construction industry in the state of Illinois throughout his life.

He met the love of his life, Kelly, in Chicago, and they ultimately spent twenty-three years of their lives together. They married in 2006 in East Lansing, Michigan. Kishore was a loving husband, and a caring father to two delightful sons, Blake (age 13) and Jackson (age 10). 

Kishore had many life-long friends and loved ones who remember him for his infectious smile, his warmth and sense of humor, and his dedication to family and friends. He shared his love for sports with his family—as a fan, a player of hockey, and as a boys’ soccer coach. He also enjoyed playing and collecting guitars. A Blues enthusiast, Kishore was particularly inspired by the musical genius of B.B. King. 

Kishore is, and will always be, sorely missed by his wife and children, family members, relatives, and friends who all loved him. 

A memorial service will be held in Geneva, Illinois, at Malone Funeral home at a later date.
