Kevin Conrad, Jr Obituary

Kevin Patrick Conrad Jr., age 40, passed away Thursday, May 1, 2025. Born January 24, 1985, in St. Charles, he was the beloved son of Kevin Conrad Sr. and Mary MacIsaac.

Kevin was a proud graduate of Monmouth College (Class of 2007) and went on to earn his J.D. from Washington University School of Law in 2010. Kevin served as a law clerk under the Honorable Michael W. Mosman, a federal judge with the United States District Court of the District of Oregon from 2011-2012. It was both a personal and professional highlight.

Kevin was known for his brilliant mind, quick wit, and ability to make everyone laugh at just the right moment (even in church). He cherished time with his family, especially their trips to Galena, where he found joy in unwinding and high-stakes games of Uno. A lifelong sports fan, Kevin passionately rooted for the White Sox, Bulls, Blackhawks, and Michigan, often going to games with his siblings. But nothing compared to the backyard wiffle ball games, where Kevin’s competitive spirit truly came alive.

Kevin will always be remembered as an extraordinary son and brother—fiercely protective of his sisters and unwaveringly supportive of his brothers. He was the first to help anyone in need, especially during his time as a public defender - work he loved so much. Whether on the court, field, or in the courtroom, Kevin always gave it his all. And according to him, rarely lost. Especially during those infamous Hang Time Championship Fridays, where he often colluded with his best friend and coach, Mark Corbin.

He is survived by his parents Mary (Mike) MacIsaac and Kevin Conrad; his siblings Bethany (Kevin) Hart and their two sons and daughter, David Conrad, Anna (Brian) Vonderhaar and their two sons, Christopher Conrad, and Jeffrey (Katie) Conrad and their future son. He is also survived by his own son and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Kevin is preceded in his death by his maternal grandparents Walter & Barbara Elsaesser, his paternal grandparents Robert & Dorothy Conrad, and his niece Hallie Hart.
