Kenneth C. Collins, age 83, of Geneva, passed away Monday, October 18, 2021 at Brighton Gardens of St. Charles with his loving family by his side.
He was born August 3, 1938 in Elgin, the son of Frank and Mary (Lundgren) Collins.
Kenneth proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He worked at AT&T for 34 years and after his retirement he worked at the Geneva Public Library for 10 years. He was a handy man who loved a good “fixer upper”. Kenneth also loved fishing and hunting. However, his greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family and friends. He will be dearly missed.
Kenneth is survived by his devoted wife of 61 years Betty (Gordon); children Mary Koza of St. Charles, Mike (Heather) of Elgin, Mark of Batavia, and Matt (Karen) of Fishers, Indiana; grandchildren Ethan, Maya, and Oscar Collins; siblings Donna Stading of Arkansas, Barbara Wells of Virgina, Dick (Linny) of Dundee, Bill (Mary) of Elgin, Jean Wiley of Tinley Park, and Debbie Martin of Arkansas; and many other nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral prayers for Kenneth will be held Monday, October 25, 2021 at 9:30 am at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street (Route 38), Geneva proceeding to St. Peter Catholic Church, 1891 Kaneville Road, Geneva for celebration of Funeral Mass at 10:30 am with Father Jonathan Bakkelund, Celebrant.
Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Geneva.
Visitation will be held Sunday, October 24 at Malone Funeral Home from 4:00-8:00 pm with a liturgical wake service at 7:45 pm with Deacon Greg D’Anna officiating.
