Kathleen S. Freeman, age 72, of Cortland, passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born February 26, 1951, in Blue Island, Illinois, the daughter of Clem and Dorothy (Czarnecki) Wenzowski.
Kathleen was a devout woman of God and she dedicated her life’s work to her family, her children, and grandchildren. Rarely was she seen without a small hand in hers. She preferred the simpler things in life, the sounds of children laughing, comforting food cooking in the kitchen, and spending time enjoying God’s handiwork in the design of a flower, the scent on a spring breeze, or the delicately painted sky in sunset. In life she was quiet, loving, and humble. In her death, she has left an imprint on our hearts that will never fade.
She is survived by her children Kevin (Diana) Freeman of Sandwich, Amy (Brad) Cobb of Elburn, Jared (Stacia) Freeman of Sycamore, and Sarah (Joseph) Macaluso of Geneva; grandchildren Kyle, Austin and Alexis Freeman, Morgan Cobb, Andrew Crane, Jack and Henry Freeman, and Carter, Addyson, and Joseph Macaluso; mother Dorothy Goeke of Orange Park Florida; brother James Wenzowski of Aurora; and many more relatives and friends.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her loving husband Dale and her father Clem.
A visitation and celebration of life for Kathleen will be held Saturday, May 27, 2023 from 9:00 am until the time of her funeral service at 11:00 am at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street (Route 38), Geneva. Funeral blacks are discouraged as we celebrate Kathy’s heavenly homecoming.
Private family burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Sycamore.
