Karen Bielski

Karen A. Bielski, age 59, of Geneva, passed away Thursday, August 20, 2020 at her home in Geneva with her loving family by her side.

She was born November 22, 1960 in Chicago, the daughter of Edward and Anne Kushibab.

Karen graduated from Loyola University with a B.S. in nursing.  Her most recent employment was with the Geneva School District for many years as a school nurse.  She enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, traveling, hiking, and exercising, however her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family and friends.  Karen was very kind and loving and will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her loving husband of 35 years Dr. Steven Bielski; children Christa of Chicago and Nicholas of San Francisco; siblings Kenneth (Sheryl) of St. Charles and Marianne (Daniel) Gallagher of Tinley Park; and many other dear nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be held Friday, August 28, 2020 from 4:00 – 8:00 pm at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street (Route 38), Geneva with a prayer service at 7:45 pm with Deacon Greg D’Anna officiating.

Funeral Prayers will be held Saturday, August 29 at 9:30 am at Malone Funeral Home proceeding to St. Peter Catholic Church, 1891 Kaneville Road for Celebration of Funeral Mass at 10:30 am with Father Jonathan Bakkelund, Celebrant. 

Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Geneva.

Due to the current health care restrictions involving Covid-19 and social distancing, the visitation is limited to a gathering of 50 people at a time, but the Mass welcomes up to 220.  Standards of occupancy will be upheld. To attend please be prepared to wear a mask and/or wait if occupancy standards need to be met before entering.
