Julie M. (VanDeveire) Dillon

Julie Margaret Dillon, age 60, of Geneva, passed away Saturday, January 13, 2024 at her home.

She was born May 6, 1963, in Geneva, the daughter of John and Roberta (Chrenko) VanDeveire.

Julie was born and raised in the Fox Valley area, and continued to live there throughout most her adult life. She attended grade school at St. Peter’s Catholic School in Geneva and graduated as a Geneva Viking in 1981. She enjoyed reminiscing about all the fun and exciting times she had with her friends and her sisters, Kathy and Jackie. During these years, she developed her musical talents by learning how to play the flute. In June of 1993, Julie had her only child, Nicole Mae. She often described this day as being the best day of her life. Julie dedicated her life to nursing and loved providing care to the geriatric community. Her caring nature made her patients feel calm and taken care of, many never forgetting the impact Julie made on their lives. Julie enjoyed a variety of music, but always jumped at the chance to go see one of her favorite artists, Buddy Guy, and anyone would jump at the chance to accompany her so they could enjoy her fun-loving personality and witty sense of humor. Julie touched the lives of many during her life and has left a lasting impact on anyone who knew her.

She is survived by her daughter Nicole of Geneva; sisters Kathleen VanDeVeire of St. Charles and Jacqueline VanDeVeire of California; her daughter’s father Scott Dillon of Hampshire; and many other dear relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A visitation for Julie will be held Saturday, January 20, 2024 from 4:00 pm until the time of her memorial service at 7:00 pm at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street (Route 38), Geneva.

Burial will be held privately.
