Juan Antonio "Tony" Monroy

Juan Antonio “Tony” Monroy, age 47, of Joliet, passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2020 surrounded by his loving family.

 He was born August 17, 1973, in Mexico, the son of Hector and Edith (Peregrina) Monroy.

 Tony worked as a skilled union carpenter for Contour Systems for over 25 years and was a proud member of Local Carpenters Union 58.  He enjoyed camping, remodeling, dancing, and spending time with his family.  He adored his five children and loved teaching them new things.  He was a one of a kind giving and hardworking man who did everything for his children and family.  He will be dearly missed.

 He is survived by his children Mackenzie, Marcella, Anthony, Meleeza, and Joseph; his children’s mother Alma of Geneva; parents Hector of Mexico and Edith of Brookfield; siblings Leticia of Broadview, Adriana (Jose) Ramirez of Cicero, Martin (Edith) of Mexico, and Hector (Diana) of Brookfield; and many other dear relatives and friends.

 Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 1, 2020 from 8:30 - 10:30 am at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street, Geneva.  Due to the current health care restrictions, we are limited to a gathering of 10 people at a time.  Standards of occupancy will be upheld. To attend please be prepared to wear a mask and/or wait if occupancy standards need to be met before entering. 

 Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 am at St. Peter Catholic Church, 1891 Kaneville Road, Geneva with Father Jonathan Bakkelund celebrant.  There are currently no occupancy restrictions at church.

 Private burial will be held at Resurrection Cemetery in Justice.
