Joyce Scott

Joyce Scott, age 65, of St. Charles, passed away Sunday, January 7, 2024, at Accent Care in Naperville with her loving family by her side.

She was born August 26, 1958, in Chicago, the daughter of Carol Roethlisberger

Joyce grew up in the Elgin area, where later in life she met and married the love of her life, John. Together they raised five children in St. Charles. Joyce loved her animals, especially dogs. Joyce was elated to be a grandmother to four wonderful grandchildren.

She is survived by her children Maranda (John) Barnard of Batavia, Autumn Scott of St. Charles, John C. Scott III of Roselle, Krystle (Colin) Austin of DeKalb, and Michael Scott of St. Charles; grandchildren Zackary Barnard, Peyton Austin, Layla Daeschlein, and Cole Austin; siblings Karen Baker and Edward (Jamie) Roethlisberger; and other dear relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her brother Ralph Morris; parents; grandparents who raised her Jay and Esther Darnell; and her devoted husband John who passed away in 2021.

A visitation for Joyce will be held Thursday, January 18, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of her funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street (Route 38), Geneva.

Burial will follow at Little Woods Cemetery in South Elgin.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Anderson Animal Shelter, 1000 S. La Fox Street, South Elgin, Illinois, 60177.
